Africa’s richest woman, Mrs. Folorunso Alakija has been penciled down among other top dignitaries to grace “The G20”, a stakeholders dialogue on Inclusive Governance, Policy Development And Political Participation, organized by Gender Agenda Initiative.
The program whose objective is to recalibrate elder stateswomen and awaken their consciousness on national development will take place October 20, 2017, at the Conference Hall, Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
A news bulletin made available to ALEDEH by Adaora Onyechere on behalf of Gender Agenda Initiative on Tuesday, October 17, says some of the issues that will be discussed during the program, will be issues on “mentoring and also creating a platform that will see to the tailored interest of the younger generation”.
Onyechere said the program is for twenty (20) women who significantly are important with reference to their wealth of experience and background in the areas of deepening mentoring and synergising the enthusiasm of young female followership”.
She said this will be the Pre-Delibration for an all women’s National Conference in January with the theme: “Our Next Generation of Women, Leadership, and Mentorship“.
The G20 Dialogue is platformed By Women’s Situation Nigeria and United Nations Women.
Onyechere said the G20 is also to expand the symbolism of inclusion beyond the age debate and to stress the essence of capacity, preparation and structure especially as regarding National development.
“This event is to remind our Elder stateswomen and women in Leadership that mainstreaming gender without an all gender category agenda will not work”, she said.
Apart from Mrs. Folorunso Alakija, other Special guests expected to grace the occasion include Titi Abubakar, wife of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Uche Azikiwe, wife of former Head of State, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Pauline Tallen, Senator Florence Ita Giwa, wife of late Dele Giwa, Joy Onyesoh, Senator Stella Oduah, Comfort Lamptey, Adaora Onyechere among others.
Meanwhile, Gender Agenda Initiative is organizing this event in partnership with United Nations Women, Women Situation Room, and the National Assembly.
Nigeria’s burgeoning online integrated media platform, ALEDEH, will be bringing highlights of the event which is strictly by invitation.
