BREAKING NEWS: LABOUR PARTY’S SENATOR, OVIE OMO-AGEGE DEFECTS TO APC

Omo-Agege who is the only member of the Labour Party at the Senate, made the announcement during Senate plenary on Tuesday.Labour Party Senator representing Delta Central, Ovie Omo-Agege on Tuesday, March 7, announced his defection from the party to the ruling party, All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Delta state senator said he left the Labour Party based on the internal crisis rocking the party.
He cited section 68 (1) (g) as the basis of dumping the Labour Party for the APC.
The section reads: “Being a person whose election to the house was sponsored by a political party, he becomes a member of another political party before the expiration of the period for which that house was elected; Provided that his membership of the latter political party is not as a result of a division in the political party of which he was previously a member or of a merger of two or more political parties or factions by one of which he was previously sponsored.
