The governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki, has sent a list of commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for confirmation as members of his cabinet.
This was contained in a letter dated June 19, 2017, and addressed to the Speaker of the House, Dr. Justin Okonoboh, which ALEDEH exclusively obtained.
The letter stated that the nominees were drawn from the 18 local government areas in the state.
The nominees are: Hon Yekini Idaiye (Akoko-Edo), Hon. Paul Ohonbamu (Egor), Barr. E. Agbale (Esan Central), Barr. Emmanuel Usoh (Esan NE), Magdalene Ohenhen (Esan SE), Engr. Amiolemen Osahon (Esan West), Hon. Joseph Ugheoke (Etsako Central), Mr. Mika Amanokha (Etsako East), Mrs Mariam Abubakar (Etsako West)
Osagie John Inegbedion (Igueben), Erimona Edoriodion Oye (Ikpoba-Okha), Prof(Mrs) Yinka Omorogbe (Oredo), Mr. Osaze Osemwegie-Ero (Orionmwon), Hon. Monday Osaigbovo (Ovia NE).
Others are: Dr. Christopher Adesotu (Ovia SW), Hon. Jimoh Ijegbai (Owan East), Hon. Reginald Okun (Owan West) and Dr David Osifo (Uhunmwonde)
In the letter, governor Obaseki urged the lawmakers to facilitate the confirmation of the nominees.
Meanwhile, shortly after the letter was read during plenary on the floor of House, the Speaker stressed that the list had long been expected by the people of the state.
