FG Considers Lockdown In 18 LGAs

Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 has revealed it may announce lockdowns in 18 local governments across Nigeria.
According to the Chairman of the PTF on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha who spoke in an interview with journalists after briefing the President, the states being considered have the highest rate of incidence in Nigeria.
Mustapha, who is the Secretary to the Government of the federation said 11 of the 20 local governments in Nigeria account for 60% of Nigeria’s total cases.
Explaining the relatively low mortality rate, he said it is because majority of those infected are in the active ages of 31-40.
While he appealed to Nigerians to adhere strictly with the guidelines, he said the nation is yet to hit its peak of the disease despite growing number of cases.
