Group Accuses Obaseki Of Planning To Set Up APC Members

A group in Edo State, Edo Grassroot Ambassadors has accused Godwin Obaseki of planning to set up some members of the APC.

In it’s statement, the intelligence gathering unit of thebEdo Grassroot Ambassadors said it has “uncovered a sinister plot to set up some members of APC who are opposed to Governor Obaseki’s election.

“The plot which is being masterminded by the CSO to the Governor in conjunction with the Deputy Governor is designed to set up some APC members who had earlier rejected monetary and political appointments from the Govt. The plan is to secretly lodge incriminating dangerous materials in their cars and homes of the selected APC members with a view to inform the DSS in order to create a negative impression and justification for the arrest of targeted persons until after the election.

“Edo Grassroot Ambassadors is aware that four of its members are amongst those already pencilled down.

The four members are; Hon Eric Okaka-. BOT chairman- Edo Grassroot Ambassadors, Eng Fidelis Eseigbe- The foundation Secretary Edo Grassroot Ambassadors, Sunday Ominu Anthony – Owan East Coordinator of Edo Grassroot Ambassadors, Kerimu Shehu Kelly. Edo Grassroot Ambassadors ward Coordinator

“It is on record that Hon Okaka was offered money at the onset of the Edo State House of Assembly crisis which was rejected. He was severally threatened by the agents of the Govt after surviving the attack at the Golden Tulip Hotel.

“The agents of Edo State Govt have made several attempt to lure Eng Fidelis Eseigbe-a Grassroot mobilizer with political appointment and financial inducement which he has severally rejected.

“However, out of desperation, the govt has made two alternative plans.

“To set them up in order to put them out of circulation till after the election.

“If the plan A fails then they will activate plan B which is outright elimination of some of the names.

“We are bringing this threat to the notice of the general public and the security agencies.

“We have also advised all our members and indeed APC members across the state to be more security conscious.”
