COVID-19: No Resumption Of School For Exit Classes – Imo Govt

Imo State Government, in its bid to keep students safe from contracting COVID-19, announced that all schools in the State should remain closed until all laid down protocols are met.

The State Governor, Hope Uzodinma gave the directive in a press release signed by the state Commissioner for Education, Prof. B. T. O Ikegwuoha.

Recall that the Federal Government had announced that students in exit classes should resume on August 3, in order participate in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) exercise scheduled to begin on August 17, 2020.

Imo Govt however assured that a resumption date will soon be made known by the Governor as soon as the modalities and conditions given by the state COVID-19 task force, World Health Organization and the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) have been fulfilled.
