Oyo State says it has discharged 51 more patients after their recovery from the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.
The State Governor, Seyi Makinde, made the disclosure in a series of tweets via his official Twitter handle on Sunday.
According to the governor, the total number of recoveries in the state is now 1,335.
Makinde also confirmed 8 new cases of COVID-19 announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) Saturday night.
He urged residents with any COVID-19 symptom to call the state’s Emergency Operations Centre or visit a community-based testing centre.
“Fifty-one confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged,” the governor tweeted.
“This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 1335.
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for eight suspected cases came back POSITIVE.
“The cases are from Ibadan South West (4), Ibadan North (1), Ibadan South East (1), Ibadan North West (1) and Lagelu (1) LGAs. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 2768.”
