Just In: Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise By 601 To 51,905, Deaths Now 997

Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases increased from 51,304 it was on Friday to 51,905 on Saturday, indicating 601 new infections.

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed this in its daily update on Coronavirus.

According to the NCDC’s data, a total of 882 patients recovered and were discharged from various isolation centres in the country, while a person died of COVID-19 complications.

Giving a breakdown of the fresh infections, the NCDC said Lagos State recorded the highest figure of the day with 404 infections.

Others are; FCT-37, Oyo-19, Ondo-14, Abia-13, Enugu-13, Kaduna-13, Edo-12, Kano-12, Kwara-11, Ebonyi-10, Nasarawa-7, Ogun-6, Osun-5, Delta-5, Niger-5, Plateau-4, Bayelsa-4, Katsina-3, Ekiti-2 and Imo-2.

As of Saturday, 22nd of August 2020, a total of 997 persons have lost their lives to the virus in Nigeria, while 38,767 patients recovered.
