Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Hit 45,244 With 354 New Infections, Deaths Now 930

Nigeria’s number of COVID-19 cases has now risen to 45,244.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Thursday.

According to the centre, the tests of 354 suspected cases came back positive.

While 265 patients were discharged, 3 new fatalities were recorded.

16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases on Thursday.

FCT recorded the highest new cases with 78, followed by Lagos with 76 cases.

Others are Kaduna (23), Ebonyi (19), Oyo (18), Nasarawa (17), Rivers (17), Delta (16), Kwara (15), Akwa Ibom (13), Edo (12), Ogun (12), Plateau (11), Kano (9), Bauchi (6), Borno (6), and Ekiti (6).

So far, a total of 32,430 patients have recovered from COVID-19 and been discharged. However, 930 patients have lost their lives to the disease.

There are now 11,884 active cases across the country.
