Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Hit 47,290 With 423 New Infections, Deaths Now 956

Nigeria has now recorded a total of 47,290 cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Tuesday night.

According to the centre, the tests of 423 suspected cases came back positive.

While 263 patients were discharged, 6 new fatalities were recorded.

21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases on Tuesday.

Lagos recorded the highest new cases with 117, followed by FCT with 40 cases.

Others are Ondo (35), Rivers (28), Osun (24), Benue (21), Abia (19), Ogun (19), Ebonyi (18), Delta (17), Kwara (17), Kaduna (15), Anambra (14), Ekiti (11), Kano (9), Imo (6), Gombe (4), Oyo (3), Taraba (3), Bauchi (1), Edo (1), and Nasarawa (1).

So far, a total of 33,609 patients have been discharged following their recovery from COVID-19.

However, a total of 956 patients have lost their lives to the disease.

There are now 12,725 active cases across the country.
