Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise To 48,445 With 329 New Infections, Deaths Now 973

Nigeria has now recorded a total of 48,445 cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Friday night.

According to the centre, the tests of 329 suspected cases came back positive.

While the recovery of 1,689 patients was disclosed, 7 new fatalities were recorded.

21 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases on Friday.

Lagos recorded the highest new cases with 113, followed by Kaduna with 49 cases.

Others are FCT-33; Plateau-24; Kano-16; Edo-15; Ogun-14; Delta-13; Osun-10; Oyo-8; Ekiti-6; Bayelsa-6; Akwa Ibom-5; Borno-4; Enugu-4; Ebonyi-3; Rivers-2; Bauchi-1; Nasarawa-1; Gombe-1; and Niger-1.

So far, a total of 35,998 patients have been discharged following their recovery from COVID-19.

However, a total of 973 patients have lost their lives to the disease.
