Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise To 51,304 With 340 New Infections, Deaths Now 996

Nigeria has recorded 340 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

This was disclosed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update late Friday night.

The centre reported that 316 patients were discharged following their recovery from the disease.

It also disclosed the death of 4 patients.

18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) recorded new cases on Friday.

Kaduna recorded the day’s highest toll with 63 new cases while 51 new cases were reported in the FCT.

Plateau and Lagos followed with 38 and 33 new cases respectively.

Others are Delta(25), Gombe (21), Adamawa(21), Edo(20), Katsina(17), Akwa Ibom(11), Ekiti(10), Rivers(9), Ondo(5), Ebonyi(4), Cross River(3), Ogun(3), Sokoto(2), Imo(2), and Nasarawa (2).

Since the index case was confirmed on February 27, 2020, Nigeria has recorded 51,304 cases of the disease.

While 37,885 cases have been discharged after their recovery, a total of 996 fatalities have been recorded.

There are now 12,423 active cases of COVID-19 across Nigeria.
