Oyo State says it has discharged 51 COVID-19 patients.
According to a series of tweets by the State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday, the patients were discharged after they received their second negative results for the novel coronavirus disease.
The governor noted that 1,581 cases have now recovered from COVID-19 in the state.
He also confirmed 6 new cases of the disease as announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday night.
Makinde said the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state has now risen to 2,958.
“Fifty-one confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged,” the governor tweeted.
“This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 1581.
“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for six suspected cases came back POSITIVE.
“The cases are from Ibadan South East (2), Ido (1), Ibadan North (1), Ibadan North West (1) and Ona Ara (1) Local Govt Areas.
“So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 2958.”
