Parents of private schools pupils in Ogun State have protested the N25,000 they are being asked to pay to get their children tested for COVID-19.
According to the PUNCH, the parents went on the streets in Abeokuta, the state capital on Sunday, as they called to have the tests for free.
They faulted the State government for asking them to pay N25,000 before getting their wards tested for resumption.
The displeased parents on Sunday thronged the MTR 250 bed specialist hospital, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, which has been designated for testing pupils in Abeokuta.
Parents’ attempt to get their kids tested were rebuffed as they were asked to pay N25,000 before such will happen.
PUNCH reports that many of the parents were locked out of the facility as they refused to pay, with many of them blaming the poor economic realities as reasons for their inability to pay the fee.
The State government is yet to react to the story.
