Loaded Container Falls On Marine Bridge In Lagos

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) says at about 3:30am on Thursday morning, a truck with a loaded 40ft container upturned on Marine Bridge by Total outbound Apapa while trying to make a u-turn.

In a terse statement, it stated that the container had blocked the entire outbound lanes inward Ijora and Iganmu causing serious backlog which has extended to Point road and very soon to the Port.

The statement noted that the consequence is, both Apapa and Tin Can Port Truck movement activities may halt until few hours after recovery.

It said LASTMA, PTT, and Police were on ground to manage the situation.

The state government and LASTMA promised to provide further update as the situation unfolds.
