Pro-wrestler turned Hollywood actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has revealed that that he, his wife and their two little children tested positive for COVID-19 in recent weeks but that they all are now healthy.
Speaking in a video he shared via Instagram on Wednesday, the ‘Skyscraper’ actor said his two daughters, Jasmine, four, and Tiana, two, both suffered minor symptoms of COVID-19, while he and his wife Lauren Hashian had a “rough go”.
He, however, disclosed that he and his family are now on the other side of their illness.
“But I am happy to tell you guys that we as a family are good. We are on the other end of it,” Johnson said.
“We are no longer contagious, and we are, thank God, we are healthy.
“I can tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we have ever had to endure as a family. And for me personally, too, as well, and I’ve gone through some doozies in the past.”
The actor said he believes they contracted it from close family friends.
He encouraged others to exercise extreme caution when meeting with friends or family and taking measures, like getting tested for coronavirus before meeting up.
Johnson also urged people to wear face masks to limit the spread of COVID-19, describing it as the responsible thing to do.
“It baffles me that some people out there, including some politicians, will take this idea of wearing masks and make it a political agenda,” he said.
“It is a fact and it’s the right thing to do, and it is the responsible thing to do.”
