The National Assembly has postponed the resumption of plenary for senators and federal representatives from Tuesday, September 15, 2020 to Tuesday, September 29, 2020.
Recall that the legislature embarked on an 8-week recess on July 22, 2020.
In a terse statement on Saturday, the acting Clerk of the National Assembly, Ojo Olatunde Amos, disclosed that the date of resumption has been postponed.
No reason was given for the postponement.
“This is to inform all distinguished senators and honourable members of the national assembly that the resumption of plenary sessions earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 15th September, 2020 is hereby rescheduled for Tuesday 29th September, 2020,” the statement said.
“We regret any inconvenience caused by this change of date.”
Prior to July’s adjournment, the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, had mandated all committees to continue their work with ministries, departments and agencies.
