Nigeria Records 126 New COVID-19 Cases As Pandemic Tolls 56,604, Deaths Now 1,091

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says a total of 126 cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, were recorded across the country on Wednesday.

The centre made the disclosure in its daily update.

It also announced that a total of 3442 patients recently recovered from the disease.

In a tweet via its Twitter handle, the NCDC said the number include 2,967 community recoveries in FCT and 103 community recoveries in Kwara State managed in line with new case management guidelines.

The centre also disclosed 3 new deaths.

The new cases were reported in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

While the FCT recorded the highest new cases with 37, Lagos came second with 27 new cases.

Also, Plateau State recorded 16 cases with Kaduna recording 9.

Others are from Abia (7), Gombe (6), Ondo (6), Imo (5), Delta (2), Ekiti (2), Kwara (2), Oyo (2), Bauchi (1), Kano (1), Katsina (1), Ogun (1), and Yobe (1).

The new cases reported on Wednesday raised the total number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 56,604.

A total of 47,872 cases have been successfully managed while 1,091 have lost their lives to the ravaging disease.
