Nigeria Records 132 New COVID-19 Cases As Toll Rises To 56,388, Deaths Now 1,083

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says a total of 132 cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, were recorded in the country on Monday.

It made the disclosure in its daily update late Monday night.

The centre also announced that a total of 185 patients were discharged after their recovery from the disease. But 1 new death was recorded.

The new cases were reported in 10 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

While Lagos State recorded the highest new cases with 52, Gombe came second with 27 new cases.

Also, Plateau State recorded 17 cases with Kwara State recording 10.

Others are Enugu (9), Ogun (9), Katsina (3), Ekiti (2), Bauchi (1), Osun (1), and Rivers (1).

The new cases reported on Monday raised the total number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria since the beginning of the pandemic to 56,388.

A total of 44,337 cases have been successfully managed while 1,083 have lost their lives to the ravaging disease.
