Nigeria Records 155 New COVID-19 Cases As Pandemic Tolls 55,160, Deaths Now 1,061

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 155 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, in Nigeria.

There was an increase of 55 cases from the 100 reported on Sunday.

The figure continues the recent trend of low daily count of cases.

In its daily update late Monday evening, NCDC disclosed that 218 recovered patients were discharged while 4 new fatalities were recorded.

15 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported new cases on Monday.

Lagos State recorded most cases with 42 followed by Plateau with 25.

Others are Rivers (16), Ebonyi (10), FCT(9), Abia (9), Ogun (9), Osun (7), Katsina (6), Kaduna (6), Ekiti (4), Taraba (4), Edo (3), Anambra (2), Akwa Ibom (2), and Kano (1).

So far, Nigeria has recorded a total of 55,160 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

While 43,231 patients have recovered, 1,061 have lost their lives to the disease.
