Nigeria Records 156 New COVID-19 Cases As Toll Rises To 54,743, Deaths Now 1,051

Nigeria has now recorded a total of 54,743 cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the disclosure in its daily update late Friday night.

It stated that 156 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours across the country.

While 189 recovered patients were discharged, 3 new deaths were also recorded.

16 states and the Federal Capital Territory recorded new cases on Friday.

With 36 cases, Lagos recorded the day’s highest toll again while FCT recorded 35 cases.

Oyo recorded 29 new cases with Kaduna recording 10 new cases.

Others are Abia-9, Osun-5, Ogun-5, Enugu-5, Rivers-4, Nasarawa-3, Ekiti-3, Imo-3, Edo-2, Kwara-2, Katsina-2, Plateau-2, and Niger-1.

So far, there have been 42,816 recoveries while 1,051 fatalities have been recorded.
