A total of 160 new COVID-19 infections were recorded in Nigeria on Saturday, 12th of September 2020, indicating a significant decline compared to previous months.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed this in its daily update on Coronavirus.
In about three weeks now, Nigeria has constantly announced less than 300 infections in its daily count.
The fresh 160 cases, according to the NCDC, were reported in 12 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A State-by-State breakdown of the cases revealed the following; FCT (39), Plateau (39), Lagos (30), Kaduna (23), Katsina (7), Rivers (6), Oyo (6), Yobe (3), Benue (3), Bayelsa (1), Abia (1), Edo (1) and Ekiti (1).
The Centre for Disease Control further revealed that two persons died of COVID-19 complications, while 90 patients recovered and have been discharged from various isolation centres in the country on Saturday.
Till date, 56,177 cases have been confirmed; 44,088 recoveries and 1,078 fatalities.
