Nigeria Records 162 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Now 54,905 With 1,054 Deaths

A total of 162 new COVID-19 infections were recorded in Nigeria on Saturday, 5th of September 2020.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) revealed this in its daily update on Coronavirus.

The fresh cases, which however indicate a significant decline compared to previous months, were reported in   14 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

A State-by-State analysis of the 162 cases revealed the following; Lagos-53, Gombe-21, Oyo-19, Delta-12, Ondo-11, Plateau-10, Ebonyi-9, FCT-6, Kwara-6, Kaduna-5, Rivers-3, Ogun-2, Anambra-2, Imo-2 and Ekiti-1.

According to NCDC’s data, 3 deaths and 106 recoveries were recorded in the country on Saturday.

Till date, 54,905 cases have been confirmed, 42,922 persons discharged, and 1,054 fatalities recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
