Nigeria Records 201 New COVID-19 Cases As Recoveries Cross 50,000

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 201 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, in Nigeria.

Wednesday’s figure brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 58,848.

But according to the NCDC, 50,358 of them have recovered and been discharged. 421 of them were discharged on Wednesday.

However, with another new death reported, 1,112 deaths have been recorded so far.

12 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported new cases on Wednesday.

Lagos State recorded most new cases with 77 followed by Rivers State with 37 new cases.

While Plateau State recorded 25 new cases, the FCT recorded 13 new infections.

Others are Kaduna (12), Ogun (12), Adamawa (8), Taraba (7), Imo (4), Kwara (2), Osun (2), Abia (1), and Oyo (1).
