Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise By 296 To 55,456, Deaths Now 1,067

Nigeria has now recorded a total of 55,456 cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made the disclosure in its daily update late Tuesday night.

It stated that 296 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours across the country. It represents an increase of 141 from the 155 reported on Monday.

While 103 recovered patients were discharged, 6 new deaths were also recorded.

14 states and the Federal Capital Territory recorded new cases on Tuesday.

With 183 cases, Plateau recorded the day’s highest toll while Lagos recorded 33 cases.

FCT recorded 25 new cases with Ogun recording 16 new cases.

Others are Oyo (7), Ekiti (6), Kwara (5), Ondo (5), Imo (3), Anambra (3), Nasarawa (3), Rivers (2), Gombe (2), Edo (2), and Akwa Ibom (1).

So far, there have been 43,334 recoveries while 1,067 fatalities have been recorded.
