PHOTOS: Obaseki, Ize-Iyamu Sign Peace Accord Ahead Of Edo Gov’ship Election

Ahead of the governorship election in Edo state, the State Governor and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Godwin Obaseki and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, have signed a peace accord.

The candidates affirmed their commitment to peaceful conduct of the election and promised to shun violence.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu; Representative of the Oba of Benin; Peace Accord Signing Ceremony: Representative of the Inspector General of Police, DIG Adeleye Oyedare; Former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar; Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mattew Kukah; and other National Peace Committee members, attended the Peace Accord Signing Ceremony on Tuesday.

Obaseki, Ize-Iyamu, and 12 other candidates will participate in the Edo Governorship Election on September 19, 2020.
