An audio clip where a former Minister of State for Education, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, accused a lawmaker representing Ughelli South State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Reuben Izeze, of murder and sponsoring thuggery, has surfaced on social media.
Gbagi and Izeze, who are both members of the PDP and hail from the same community, appear to be at war over a yet-to-be ascertained matter.
Gbagi, a governorship aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, was recorded making several allegations against the lawmaker.
He accused Izeze of spoiling the image of Oginibo town. He claimed that he sent the lawmaker to the House of Assembly not knowing he had “no character.”
The PDP chieftain further accused Izeze of once killing someone.
“The public and the general people of Delta and the world attention is drawn to the fact that, at no time, has Oginibo been in the news in a negative sense as it has been since Izeze decided to bite the hand that fed him,” he said.
“I sent Izeze to the House of Assembly unknowing that he was a man of no character; a drunkard, a drug addict as he’s now renowned to know.
“Recall that it’s the same Izeze that killed somebody in PTI. That case will be resuscitated appropriately.”
Gbagi also accused the lawmaker and some others of killing an innocent child and giving publicity like he (Gbagi) was associated with the killing.
“I was not even here. I was not in the country when it happened,” he said.
The former governorship aspirant stated that God vindicated him, adding that as soon as he came back, he got all the persons involved were arrested.
He accused the Attorney General of the state of “issuing” a no-case submission and getting the suspects released from prison.
Gbagi noted that the propaganda against him was not successful because he had given most children in Oginibo scholarship and added value to the town.
He said despite what the people of Oginibo had done for Izeze, he didn’t build a home in the town, accusing him of only “fomenting trouble” and “gathering Indian Hemp smokers” to smoke like “he does himself.”
He further accused the lawmaker of destroying the life of young boys.
The PDP chieftain called on the Speaker of Delta House of Assembly to call Izeze to caution because “he has erupted all the trouble for his personal gains.”
Gbagi also accused the lawmaker of “paying” a judge to secure a court injunction to stop media houses from publishing stories on the political thugs he was allegedly sponsoring.
He further described Izeze as a “controversial drug addict.”
In addition, the former minister accused a PDP chieftain in the state, Andrew Desi, of negativity and destroying the reputation of others. He claimed that Desi is “renowned for destruction.”
He noted he and his people will continue to do good and support the “new government” to succeed.
He maintained that he would not belong to such “corrupt” group of people.
