The three #EndSARS protesters who were arrested by the police on Saturday in Abekoluta, Ogun State, have regained their freedom.
The police earlier on Monday arraigned them for “attempted murder”.
But the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, intervened and order their unconditional release.
The governor directed that their prosecution be stopped.
“On my instruction, the Attorney General has reviewed the evidence in the investigation case file in respect of the three suspects that were remanded in a custodial centre on 12 October 2020.They are to be released immediately,” he said.
The police consequently released the protesters on Tuesday.
The arrested protesters had joined their colleagues across the country, demanding an end to police brutality and extra-judicial killings.
