Sanwo-Olu Reveals Identities Of Police Officers Who Assaulted #EndSARS Protesters

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has named some officers who assaulted #EndSARS protesters in the state.

In a tweet via his official Twitter handle on Thursday, Sanwo-Olu named four erring officers who have been arrested.

He said the officers namely: Inspector Bagou Michael; Inspector Ekpoudom Etop; Sgt Nnamdi Majura and Sgt. Akinyemi Benson, are facing an orderly room trial “immediately.”

The governor, who apologised to all assaulted protesters, said the state government has set up a panel to look into all cases of police brutality and fatality.

He also disclosed that government has set up a N200m compensation fund.

“I am very sorry about this experience. All the erring officers involved have been arrested; Inspector Bagou Michael; Inspector Ekpoudom Etop; Sgt Nnamdi Majura and Sgt. Akinyemi,” Sanwo-Olu tweeted.

“Benson and they are facing an orderly room trial immediately.

“We have also set up a panel to look into all cases of police brutality and fatality and have set up a N200m compensation fund. I will make all announcements shortly. Once again, I apologise to any protester that has faced brutality during any of the protests days.”
