Nigeria on Saturday discharged a total of 4,253 recovered COVID-19 patients, according to the data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The 4,253 is the highest recoveries the nation has ever recorded in a single day.
“Our discharges today include 4,161 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with new case management guidelines,” the Centre for Disease control explained.
The NCDC also announced that 113 new infections were reported in 13 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A State by State breakdown of the fresh cases revealed the following; Lagos-37, Kaduna-16, Ogun-11, Plateau-11, Taraba-8, Rivers-7, FCT-6, Enugu-4, Niger-4, Edo-3, Delta-2, Imo-2, Benue-1 and Kano-1.
The NCDC further stated in its report that four patients died of COVID-19 complications.
As noted in the Centre for Disease Control’s update, Nigeria has so far recorded 61,307 COVID-19 cases; 56,557 recoveries and 1,123 fatalities.
This shows that the nation’s active cases as of Saturday 17, October 2020, is 3627.
