Nigeria Records 179 New Cases Of COVID-19, Total Now 60,834

Nigeria has recorded 179 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), no death was recorded on Wednesday as the country’s fatality rate continues to drop.

In its daily update, the centre disclosed that 137 patients were discharged following their recovery.

Lagos State, the epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria, recorded 116 new cases.

Anambra State recorded 20 new cases while the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Rivers and Oyo States recorded 9 cases each.

Others are Delta (3), Nasarawa (3), Edo (2), Kaduna (2), Ogun (2), Plateau (2), Ekiti (1), and Osun (1).

The total number of deaths remain at 1,116.

The number of confirmed cases has risen to 60,834 while recoveries have jumped to 52,143.
