Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Hit 61,194 With 212 New Infections, Deaths Now 1,119

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 212 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, in Nigeria.

There was an increase of 64 cases from the 148 reported on Thursday.

In its daily update late Friday evening, NCDC disclosed that 110 recovered patients were discharged while 3 new fatalities were recorded.

7 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported new cases on Friday.

Lagos and Plateau States recorded most new cases with 85 each followed by Oyo with 72 new cases.

Others are FCT (21), Ogun (11), Plateau (11), Katsina (6), Kaduna (5), and Osun (1).

So far, a total of 61,194 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded.

While 42,304 patients have recovered, 1,119 have lost their lives to the disease.
