Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise To 62,691 With 170 New Infections, Deaths Now 1,144

Nigeria has now recorded a total of 62,691 cases of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19.

This was made known by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update late Friday night.

It stated that 170 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours across the country.

3 new deaths were recorded while 181 recovered patients were discharged.

The NCDC said the discharges include 85 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with new case management guidelines.

10 states and the Federal Capital Territory recorded new cases on Friday.

Lagos recorded the day’s highest toll with 106 cases while the FCT recorded 25 cases.

Oyo State also reported 14 new cases with Edo and Kaduna States reporting 7 cases each.

Others are Ogun (4), Bauchi (2), Benue (2), Kano (1), Osun (1), and Rivers (1).

So far, there have been 58,430 recoveries while 1,144 fatalities have been recorded.
