Millennials Active Citizenship Advocacy Africa (MACAA) has announced that the 2020 Citizens conference on youth unemployment in Nigeria will hold virtually on Saturday, October 24.
A statement made available by the Convener of the Conference and Co-founder of MACAA, Seun Awogbenle said this year’s conference themed ‘Turning Ideas Into Opportunities’ will address the unemployment question, provide a roadmap on maximizing Nigeria’s large youth population and harness their huge reservoir of potential for growth, productivity and competitiveness.
MACAA also revealed that the Founder/CEO of TheCable Newspaper, Simon Kolawole will deliver the keynote address at the conference.
Speakers at the Conference include members of the House of Representatives Hon. Shina Peller, former Minister for Youth and Sports development Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, Founder BTDT Hub Dr Dipo Awojide as some of the speakers at this year’s conference.
Other speakers at the Conference include Actor and Creative Entrepreneur Deyemi Okanlawon, TV Host, Morayo Afolabi-Brown, Chief Strategist Alpha Reach JJ. Omojuwa, Founder and President of X3M Ideas Steve Babaeko and CEO Mamza Beauty Fatima Mamza.
The Conference which began in 2018, is an annual convergence that empowers young people to lead the way in public good, social change, maximize their creative ideas for innovation and provide solutions to problems in their community and region.
According to the statement, “the Conference has helped thousands of young people to be at the centre of policy design and development through the direct engagement of policy actors from both the private and public sector and promoting a general sense of ownership, responsibility and collective action for sustainable development.”
