COVID-19: Nigeria Records 212 New Cases As Infections Rise To 64,728

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported no death from the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19, in Nigeria.

The centre, in its daily update on Thursday, however reported 212 new cases of the disease.

There was an increase of 32 cases from the 180 reported on Wednesday.

The NCDC also disclosed that 53 recovered patients were discharged across the country.

16 states including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) reported new cases on Thursday.

Lagos State recorded most new cases with 71 followed by Imo and Plateau States with 26 new cases each.

Also, the FCT recorded 19 new infections while Ondo State reported three.

Others are Kaduna (14), Rivers (9), Oyo (9), Katsina (6), Osun (4), Bauchi (2), Ekiti (2), Nasarawa (2), Ogun (2), Kano (1), Kwara (1), and Taraba (1).

So far, 64,728 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded.

While 60,790 patients have recovered, 1,162 have lost their lives to the disease.
