“You’re Chasing Clout” – Daughter Rejects Charly Boy’s Claim Over Her Sexuality

Dewy Oputa, daughter of veteran musician, Charles Oputa, better known as Charly Boy, has called out her father on social media over a post he made on her sexuality.

On Friday, he took to his verified Twitter handle to claim he loves his gay daughter (Dewy) for who she is.

The musician noted that accepting the truth “hurts” and “is like surgery” but it pays to accept it.

Professing his love for Dewy, Charly Boy thanked God for bringing peace to his “confusion.”

“Me, I love my gay daughter oooo because she has put some colors into my life too,” he tweeted.

“Acceptance of the truth is like surgery. It hurts but cures. Lie is like a pain killer. It gives instant relief but it’s (sic) side effects can last forever.

“I am proud when I say, God has brought peace to my confusion, joy to my sadness and hope to my heart. I love you Dewy.”

The musician’s post generated hundreds of reactions, with many commending him for his unconditional love.

In followup tweets, the musician hailed the reactions.

Charly Boy, who noted that parents owe their children unconditional love, called on those who feel pressured or unloved by their parents to reach out to him.

“I am indeed amazed with the reaction I am getting after my recent post about my child’s sexuality,” he said.

“If you feel pressured or unloved by ur (your) parents because they don’t understand you and you’re afraid about talking to them, call me on 0818 020 8694.

“I willl make time to listen to you and maybe together we can talk through whatever is bordering you. Parents owe their children unconditional Love.”

Responding to her father’s claims, Dewy accused him of “gaslighting” her and chasing “clout” and “attention.”

The musician’s daughter claimed that she was kicked out of the house because of her sexuality and was rendered homeless at a time.

She said Charly Boy, who no longer pick her calls, did not know if she was dead or alive at the time.

Dewy further accused her father of placing instant gratification from strangers over his own daughter.

“Gaslighting at its finest. It’s quite unfortunate that my life is nothing but content I just can’t wrap my head around the hypocrisy. All this for a drop of clout, attention and praise from strangers just to feed your ego,” she said on Twitter.

“Honestly I was going to just free this situation because I’m used to this toxicity and mentally, I’m tired but after seeing this I can’t stomach this pretentious behavior anymore because on a normal level this man no dey (doesn’t) even pick my call.

“I got kicked out of the house and was damn near homeless and if not for my friend I wouldn’t have even had food or Shelter!

“Fortunately for me I had a return ticket to come back to Atlanta, I moved back here with zero dollars not even knowing whereI was going to live or where my next meal was going to come from!

“I was literally living couch to couch and lord knows how tirelessly Iv (I’ve) worked so I could have my own stability!

“You didn’t even know if your daughter was dead or alive anything could have happened to me. But on social media you father of the year.

“You have literally put Instant gratification from strangers before your own blood.”
