Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State in South-East Nigeria has approved the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onyebuchi Ememanka, made the disclosure in a statement on Saturday.
“All those affected by this dissolution are to handover all government properties in their possession, together with their handover notes, to their respective Permanent Secretaries,” the statement read in part.
“The Governor expresses his deep appreciation to these men and women for their services to the people of Abia State, and wishes them well for the future.”
The governor also recalled his suspended Chief of Staff, Dr. ACB Agbazuere.
“The Governor has also approved the recall from suspension of his Chief of Staff, Dr. ACB Agbazuere. This recall takes immediate effect,” the statement added.
Agbazuere had been suspended in December after a video which shows him spraying money on controversial Onitsha-based cleric, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, better known as Odumeje, the ‘Indaboski’, went viral.
Although no reason was given for his suspension, it was believed that the viral video was responsible for it.
