El-Zakzaky’s Wife Contracts COVID-19 In Kaduna Prison, Says IMN

Wife of the embattled leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, Zeenat has reportedly contracted COVID-19 while in detention at the Kaduna Prison.

IMN’s spokesman, Ibrahim Musa stated this on Thursday, noting that Zeenat tested positive twice on January 20, 2021.

Musa urged authorities of the Nigerian Correctional Service to allow El-Zakzaky’s wife to seek proper medical treatment in line with COVID-19 protocols.

Recall that El-Zakzaky and his wife have been in detention since 2015 after being charged with culpable homicide and other sundry offences following a clash between operatives of the Nigerian army and his protesting followers who waylayed the convoy of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, leading to the killings of hundreds of the protesters.
