The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has finally revealed the number of COVID-19 cases recorded on Friday in Lagos State, South-Western part of the country.
The NCDC had earlier noted that the 1,483 cases announced late Friday “does not include data from Lagos State.”
However, on Saturday, the Centre for Disease disclosed that Lagos State recorded 831 new infections in the day under review.
This takes the total COVID-19 cases recorded on Friday to 2,314, Nigeria’s highest daily infections since the first case was announced in February 2020.
Also, the nation’s total death rate increased from 1,490 that was earlier announced to 1,497 while the total number of discharged rose from 94,490 to 94,877 in the latest data.
