Minister of State (Budget and National Planning), Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has mourned the loss of a former Secretary to the Government of Edo State (SSG), Simon Imuekemhe.
Imuekemhe passed away earlier on Thursday after a brief illness.
In a statement he personally signed, Agba described the deceased as “a quintessential gentleman” and “an administrator par excellence”.
The minister further described Imuekemhe’s death as a “monumental loss” to Edo State.
He condoled with the wife of the deceased, Mrs Josephine Imuekemhe, and his children.
“I received with great shock this morning the sad news of the death of Dr Simon Imuekemhe, a former Secretary to the Government of Edo State (SSG),” Agba said.
“Dr Imuekemhe was a quintessential gentleman and an administrator par excellence. Outside his medical accomplishments, he brought decorum, hardwork, candour, commitment and discipline to every aspect of his public service life.
“His death is a monumental loss to Edo State, Afenmai people and all those who related with him one way or another.
“I therefore offer my sincere condolences to his wife, Barr (Mrs) Josephine Imuekemhe, his children, all Afenmai people and the entire people of Ikabigbo in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State whom he showed love, affection, and uncommon service. May his soul rest in peace.”
