Nigeria on Sunday, 19th of July 2020, recorded 556 new cases of COVID-19.
The fresh infections take the total confirmed cases in the country to 36,663.
According to the data released by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), 11 persons died of COVID-19 complications, while 169 patients recovered and have been discharged from various isolation centres in the country on Sunday.
Giving a state-by-state analysis of the new cases, the NCDC said Edo State recorded the highest figure of the day with 104 infections followed by Lagos State which reported 97 cases.
Others are; FCT-70, Benue-66, Oyo-61, Kaduna-38, Plateau-28, Osun-19, Akwa Ibom-14, Rivers-13, Katsina-13, Ondo-13, gun-6, Kano-5, Nasarawa-4, Gombe-2, Ekiti-2 and Borno-1.
Out of the 6,663 cases that have been so far confirmed in Nigeria, a total of 15,105 patients have been discharged and 789 persons have died.
