Akinwunmi Adesina Wins Peace Prize In Seoul

President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Akinwunmi Adesina has been awarded as the Sunhak Peace Prize winner for 2019 for his contributions to better food security in Africa.

Adesina, a former Minister of Trade and Investment in Nigeria was at Seoul, headquarters of Sunhak in South Korea to receive the award personally.

He revealed he is the second Food Prize award winner to win the Sunhak Peace Prize.

Adesina’s efforts at AfDB have not gone unnoticed having helped many African countries to invest more in agriculture, which in turn helps boost their economy.

It is also a reward for Adesina’s promotion of good governance in Nigeria through his efforts to eradicate poverty in the agricultural sector.

The Sunhak Prize is to reward hard work of individuals and organisations, who are working to make the world a better place and it is organised in memory of Sun Myung Moon, the founder’s husband.
