Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo has commenced legal actions over alleged claims of libel against him by Timi Frank and one Katch Ononuju.
According to information gathered by ALEDEH, Osinbajo said the allegations against him are misleading and defamatory. He added that they were peddled by malicious individuals.
”In the past few days, a spate of reckless and malicious falsehoods have been peddled in the media against me by a group of malicious individuals.
”The defamatory and misleading assertions invented by this clique have been making the social media rounds anonymously.
”I have today instructed the commencement of legal action against two individuals, one Timi Frank and another Katch Ononuju, who have put their names to these odious falsehoods.”
The Vice President also vowed to put aside his immunity, as stated by the constitution to ensure a ”robust adjudication” of the libelous claim.
”I will waive my constitutional immunity to enable the most robust adjudication of these claims of libel and malicious falsehood.”
Recall that Timi Frank and Ononuju accused Osinbajo of diverting N90bn from the FIRS to sponsor the Presidential elections.
