Award-winning comedian of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and OAP Steve ‘Yaw’ Onu, popularly called ‘Yaw’ is set to lock-down Victoria Island, Lagos state, Southwest Nigeria for the 9th edition of his annual “Yaw Live on Stage” comedy show.
The comedy show which is titled ‘APERE’, will hold today, Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Eko Hotel Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos by 4pm.
The comedy/music show will see live performances from top Nigerian comedians on one stage alongside music superstars like: Duncan Mighty, Iyanya, Harrysong, Pepernazi, Solidstar, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Humblesmith, IllBliss, Skales, Surga boy, Koker and Shuga band.
The highlight of the 9th edition of “Yaw Live on Stage” comedy show is an amusing stage play titled ‘Apere’ (meaning basket) featuring Yaw and musician Sound Sultan as they take a completely satirical and holistic view at the issues surrounding Nigeria.
Speaking on his plans for this year’s edition of the critically-acclaimed comedy show, Yaw said, “I couldn’t be more excited that we are at the 9th edition of the show.
“I am grateful to everyone for the support so far and I can only say that “Apere” is going to be the most entertaining performance Nigerians have ever witnessed yet.
“I will be joined by my brother Sound Sultan and what we have in store for you is very fantastic,” he added.
Meanwhile, Apere is a follow-up from last year’s show titled “Shalanga” which also had a stage play featuring Yaw and top-rated comedian Ayo ‘AY’ Makun.
