Lagos State All Progressives Congress’ Youth Organising Secretary, Idris Aregbe has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari and National leader of the ruling party, Bola Tinubu on the legislation of June 12 as Democracy Day.
Aregbe said that the APC has indicated that it rewards patriotism, a virtue which according to him is not readily available in other political parties.
“President Buhari’s signing of June 12 as Democracy Day does not only acknowledge MKO’s irrefutable strides but also epitomises his legacy as a true-hearted nationalist that fought for the good of Nigeria and the people.”
“Beyond the legalisation of June 12, the APC as a party, has proven to the world that it rewards patriotism – a virtue that is uncommon with other parties in the country.
“For this, I salute the national leader of our great party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, for his leadership qualities and other stakeholders, who have continued to be shining examples for young and aspiring leaders to emulate,” he said.
Aregbe further said that the signing of the bill recognising June 12 as Democracy Day into law represents a new era of democratic rule in the country, adding that, “It is a brilliant strategy for Democrats in the nation to give adequate attention to issues that have of great importance to the nation, which are effectual in strengthening the fabric of peace, unity and the common progress of Nigeria.”
