The Gunners soon got a penalty after a tussle between Aubameyang and Azpilicueta resulted in the Spaniard tugging the Gabonese Arsenal Captain to the ground. Aubameyang, who has been the subject of contract talks at Arsenal stepped up to take the resultant penalty, to give Arsenal the equaliser.
Chelsea failed to build into the game thereafter, as they picked up needless yellow cards, and made mistakes at the back. Aubameyang scored a much deserved second on the 67th minute after a deep run from Hector Bellerin saw the attacker slotting the final ball behind Willy Caballero.
A controversial red card to Matteo Kovacic in the 73rd minute ensured the game was all lost for Chelsea as it got more difficult to get back in the game.
