ASUP Chairman, Four Others Kidnapped

The Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora, Opadijo Olujide, alongside the Secretary of the Union, Gbenga Alayande and three others have been kidnapped.

According to reports, they were kidnapped on their way to Saki on Thursday while they were returning from a union meeting on that same day when it took place.

Confirming the report, the Public Relations Officer for the Oyo State Police Command, Gbenga Fadeyi on Friday said an investigation is ongoing on the matter.

“Some lecturers were abducted at the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-ora. The police are on top of the situation.

According to him, the kidnap also prompted the Commissioner of Police, Shina Olukolu, to storm the area for an on-the-spot assessment.

“The Commissioner of Police went there in the morning for an on-the-spot assessment.

“Other developments will be unravelled,” the police spokesperson said.
