Some suspected bandits unleashed devilry on two villages in Katsina State.
The villages, in Batsari local government of the state were attacked by the bandits with people killed and their houses razed.
Gambo Isah, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state confirmed the incident, said that the victims were killed in Tsauwa and Dankar villages in the area.
Isah revealed that gunmen invaded the two villages on motorcycles and started shooting residents.
The Spokesman said the police arrested a suspect and recovered nine motorcycles.
He added that officers have since been deployed in the communities and that police commissioner, Sanusi Buba has visited the affected areas which were affected to assess the situation “with a view to prevent further occurrence”.
According to the NAN, most of those killed in the attack were the aged and children as they couldn’t run to save to safety.
