Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger State has assured the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) of adequate security and welfare for members in their places of primary assignment.
Bello gave the assurance at the NYSC orientation camp in Paiko Local Government Area of the state during the closing Ceremony of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 orientation course on Monday.
The governor, who was represented by Alhaji Ahmed Matane, Secretary to the State Government, advised corps members to accept their postings and directed Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) not to reject corps members sent to their organisations.
He urged the corps members to emulate their predecessors by playing active roles in various areas of community service and rural development.
Bello said that government would continue to put in place necessary logistics for effective and efficient utilisation of corps members.
Earlier, Mrs Funmilayo Ajayi, NYSC Coordinator in Niger, said the corps members successfully completed their orientation courses and participated actively in camp activities.
She advised the corps members to accept their postings in good faith and contribute their quota to the development of the state and the country.
Ajayi commended the state government for the ongoing construction of a 2,500 capacity multi-purpose hall in the orientation camp.
