Buhari seeks Senate approval for N2.342tr external loan
Aledeh News reports that President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Senate, seeking the approval of an external loan of N2,343,387,942,848.00, about $6.183billion, for the Federal Government to finance the 2021 budget deficit.
Senate President Ahmad Lawan read Buhari’s letter of request on the floor of the Senate at plenary.
The letter requesting for a loan at Plenary was read after Senator Hezekiah Dimka moved for the adoption of Votes and Proceedings for Thursday, 6th May, 2021. Senator Clifford Odia seconds.
Lawan added that, the request for the approval of Donor Funded Projects under the 2018-2020 Federal Government external borrowing rolling plan.
